  Notes	Bernard D. Cordial, Sr, 93, of Cumberland, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon, PA. Born on February 14, 1927, in Eckhart, he was the son of the late Martin and Lillian (Eisentrout) Cordial. In addition to his parents, 3 brothers and a sister, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen L. (McKenzie) Cordial. Mr. Cordial was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the South Pacific during WWII and was a life member of the Telephone Communication Workers of America. His commitment to community service includes life member and Past Commander of Lonaconing VFW #5820, President of George’s Creek Improvement, instrumental in saving Dan’s Mountain; President of the Lonaconing Little League and Pony League, Past Commander and life member of Farrady Post 24 American Legion, past District Commander of the American Legion, served as Chaplin with the American Legion Honor Guard, past President of Frostburg K of C #1411, member of the fourth degree K of C, past President and Administrator of Cumberland Moose Lodge 271, received a Fellowship degree from Moose International, former member of the Goodwill Fire Co, Cresaptown Eagles, past President of Senior and Lawmen together and a volunteer of Meals on Wheels. Mr. Cordial gives credit to the Byrnes brothers of Byrnes Store in Eckhart, where he worked after school for many years, for their influence in becoming the man he was. He enjoyed life and never met a stranger. He enjoyed working in the yard and spending time with his family, grandsons, and great grandchildren. Surviving are his son, Bernard D. Cordial, Jr and wife Colleen, Palmyra, PA; grandsons, Bernard D. Cordial, III and wife Allison, Bremen, GA and Benjamin Cordial and wife Jen, Short Gap, WV; great-grandchildren, Jade Elizabeth Cordial, Molly Kate Cordial and Jackson DeSales Cordial.
