Notes |
- Ellicott City, Md., May 15 (AP)—Authorities of Howard County, aided by detectives from the Baltimore police department, today speeded their investigation into the poisoning of Mrs. Mary McKenzie, 52, critically ill in a hospital in a Baltimore hospital, following the report of Dr. Harry Stine, Baltimore physician, that poison was found in a bottle of headache remedy, a part of which Mrs. McKenzie had taken before being stricken. All drug stores in the vicinity of Ellicott City were being examined for sales of the kind of poison reported found in large proportion in the headache remedy, despite apparent lack of motive for the poisoning. Several persons were to be questioned by the officials in their search to establish some reason for the presence of the poison in the McKenzie home. Mrs. McKenzie. third wife of Caswell T. McKenzie, Howard county carpenter, was taken to the hospital Wednesday after being stricken following taking part of a dose of the medicine. The bottle containing it was turned over to authorities for analysis and the result announced today. Two sons of Mrs. McKenzie by a former marriage, died of illness similar to that of Mrs. McKenzie, one in 1911 and and the other in 1918, police said they were told.
