Emma Grace, wife of Thomas McKenzie, a well known young businessman of Meyersdale, died at 5:30 o'clock this morning at their home on Olinger Street as the result of childbirth. This infant, their firstborn, died with the mother. Mrs. McKenzie was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. COUNTRYMAN and was an estimable young woman. Her life span was 22 years, 6 months, 11 days. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon by Rev. J.A. YOUNT. The bereaved husband has the sincerest sympathy of a large circle of friends.

Thomas A. MCKENZIE and Emma COUNTRYMAN were married on 9 Aug 1912 in Meyersdale, Summit Township, Somerset Co., Pennsylvania. Miss Emma G. Countryman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Countryman, and Thomas A. McKenzie, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. G. McKenie, both of Meyersdale, were married at SS. Philip and James Rectory, in Meyersdale, August 9, by the Rev. John J. Brady. The Daily Courier, Connellsville, August 13, 1912 Emma COUNTRYMAN (daughter of Ephraim COUNTRYMAN and Lydia STAUB) died on 19 Mar 1891. She died on 30 Oct 1913. Death has hurled his shaft and hit a shining mark. Such was the general feeling when the community was shocked with the sad intelligence this morning that Mrs. Emma Countryman McKenzie, wife of T. A. McKenzie, had departed from this life to the great beyond, from whence no traveler returns. The summons of the young woman was so sudden and the blow so heavy that the young husband was crushed and broken hearted in the calamity, which overwhelmed him on the threshold of family life. The story of her life is brief, born March 19th, 1891, married August 4th, 1912, and died October 30th, 1913. In this life, which ebbed out, in a period of 22 years, 7 months and, 11 days there are associated hallowed memories of a young woman, who was held in the highest regard by all who knew her, and it can justly be said, "none knew her but to praise." She is survived by the following: Her Grandmother, Mrs. Harriet Staub, parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Countryman, one brother, John, and her husband, Thomas A. McKenzie, of the firm McKenzie & Smith. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, interment in the Union Cemetery. Meyersdale Commercial, Oct. 30, 1913
