- Ervin 'Ivan' Yutzy, Swanton, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland. Born in Frostburg, he was a son of the late Elmer and Emma (Baker) Yutzy. He had been employed as a truck driver for Fike’s Vault Co., and also at the Somerset Foundry, Diehl’s Exxon Station, and Clapper’s Building Supply Co. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and served on board the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier. Survivors include his wife, Agnes Viola (McKenzie) Yutzy; three sons, Ivan Julius Yutzy, Somerset, Pa., Thomas Yutzy, Florida, and Gerald Keith Yutzy, Grantsville; two brothers, Cobey Yutzy, Frostburg, and Harold Yutzy, Mount Savage; two sisters, Mae Margaret Hoover, Frostburg, and Rosella Lottig, Philadelphia, Pa.; and six grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where a service was conducted Monday, Aug. 16, with the Rev. Duane Frederick officiating.
