Lotz OKEECHOBEE, FLa. - John Frederick Lotz, 86, of Okeechobee, and formerly of Frostburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee. He was born in Mt. Savage, in 1919, the son of Henry and Grace (McKnezie) Lotz. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie Lotz; four brothers, Robert Lotz, Leroy "Bussy" Lotz, Harold Lotz and Edgar Allen Lotz; and two sisters, Emily Rice and Gladys Twigg. Mr. Lotz had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1970. Prior to moving to Okeechobee he had been the owner of Frostburg Meats. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Okeechobee, the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. Mr. Lotz is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Nova M. Lotz; stepson Glenn Blank of Frostburg; stepdaughter, Sharon M(Earl) Wilson; two step grandchildren, Kristin (Max) White of Keyser, W.Va., and Jason Wilson of Ft. Ashby; three brothers, George M. Lotz of Fairmont, Howard Lotz of Canaan, Conn., and James Franklin Lotz of Mineral Wells, Texas; one sister, Grace Lepley of Mt. Savage; one brother-in-law, Leonard "Sam" (Sara-Kay) Knoche; numerous nieces and nephews; and one very special niece, Cora Carter of Mt. Savage. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 3 p.m. with Mr. Lotz's nephew, Pastor James Knoche, officiating. Interment will be in the Emmanuel Methodist Cemetery, Route 40 West. Military honors will be accorded at graveside by the Farrady Post 24 American Legion Honor Guard.
