- OLDTOWN Gladys E. (Lotz) Twigg, 91, of Oldtown, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 2, 1911, in Mount Savage, she was the son of the late Henry and Grace (McKenzie) Lotz. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edgar Twigg Sr., Jan. 15, 1978; two sisters, Emily Rice, Hilda Lotz; and three brothers, Robert, Leroy and Harold Lotz.
Mrs. Twigg was retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, a member of Oldtown United Methodist Church, the Oldtown United Methodist Women and a former secretary for the Oldtown Historical Society.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Frances (Davis) Valdez and husband Thomas P., Denver, Colo.; twin sons, Charles E. Twigg Jr. and wife Judy, Oldtown, and John F. Twigg and wife Corenia, Winchester, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Earl Lepley, Mount Savage; five brothers, George M. Lotz, Fairmont, W.Va., John F. Lotz, Okeechobee, Fla., Edgar A. Lotz, Frostburg, Howard H. Lotz, Canaan, Conn., and Frank J. Lotz, Texas; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Oldtown United Methodist Church, on Saturday at 11 a.m with Rev. Michael Henning officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10 until 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Oldtown Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her son, John F. Twigg, closest family friend, Russell Crabtree, Roy Jones, Tom Robinson, Bill Shanholtz and Buddy Lewis.
