He was the husband of the late Grace (McKenzie) Lotz and is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Emily Rice and Mrs. Grace Lepley, Mt. Savage; Mrs. Gladys Twigg, Oldtown; eight sons, George Lotz, Fairmont, W. Va.; Edgar Lotz, Finzel; John Lotz, Frostburg; Harold Lotz, Hyndman; Robert and Howard Lotz, Canaan, Conn.; James Lotz, Mt. Savage; and Corporal Leroy Lotz Army; and a sister, Mrs. Ann McKenzie, Mt. Savage. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and St. George's Episcopal Church. The body will be at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emily Rice. The Cumberland Evening Times, June 23, 1952 Interment was in the church cemetery.
