He died on 24 Aug 2004 in Meyersdale, Summit Township, Somerset Co., Pennsylvania. Joseph E. Dickey, 87, Meyersdale, died Aug. 24, 2004, at Meyersdale Medical Center. Born April 16, 1917, in Meyersdale, a son of the late Joel and Genevieve (Lancaster) Dickey. Also preceded in death by two brothers; Ralph and James; stepdaughter, Judy Lee Weimer and great-grandson, Aaron Edward Short. Survived by his wife, the former Anna M. Neimiller; four grandchildren: Brian L. Short, Lisa A. Michael, Todd E. Short, and Jodie L. Alfonso; and six great-grandchildren. Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He retired from GTE in 1979 with 33 years of service. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Price Funeral Home Meyersdale. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at SS. Philip & James Catholic Church. The Rev. James M. Dugan celebrant. Committal will follow at SS. Philip & James Cemetery, Meyersdale.
