Mrs. Fowler was a lifelong member of St. Ann's Shrine, Avilton, where she was a charter member of the Christian Mothers and served as organist for many years. She was employed in food service for many years and retired from Flushing Shirt Factory, Grantsville, after 16 years of service. Mrs. Fowler was a member of the Frostburg Moose and the Avilton Community Association.
She was buried on 31 Jan 2005 in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Avilton, Garrett Co., Maryland.

Anna P. Broadwater Fowler, 94, of National Pike, Grantsville, Md. died Friday, January 28, 2005, at her home. Born January 16, 1911, in Avilton, Md., she was the daughter of the late Raymond & Lula (Robeson) McKenzie. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Dennis S. Broadwater and Tyrus S. Fowler; an infant daughter, Jean Louise Broadwater; a great grandson, Daniel Earl; a sister, Cecelia Dugan and two brothers, Gilbert and Austin "Tip" McKenzie. Mrs. Fowler was a lifelong member of St. Ann's Shrine, Avilton, where she was a charter member of the Christian Mothers and served as organist for many years. She was employed in food service for many years and retired from Flushing Shirt Factory, Grantsville, after 16 years service. Mrs. Fowler was a member of the Frostburg Moose and the Avilton Community Association. Surviving are one son, Dennis F. "Fred" Broadwater and wife, Barbara, Bedford, Pa.; four daughters, JoAnn Kamp, Avilton; Kay Y. Tewell, Purcellville, Va.; Rosemary McCormick and husband, James, Leon, W.Va.; Miriam Patricia "Pat" Miller and husband, William, Grantsville; two brothers, Leonard McKenzie, Finzel, Md. and Paul McKenzie, Avilton; one sister, Mary Emma Warnick, Mt. Clemens, Mich.; 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's Shrine, Avilton, on Monday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Doug Kenney officiating. Interment will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. Ann's Shrine or Hospice of Garrett County. Newman Funeral Home
