- Frostburg – Mrs. Carrie Catherine Britt, 86, formerly of here, died Tuesday at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. She had been residing with a daughter, Mrs. Doris J. Flick, 134 Polk Street, Cumberland. Born in New Germany, she was a daughter of the late Charles C. Durst and Dora (McKenzie) Durst. Her husband, Joseph J. Britt, preceded her in death. Mrs. Britt was a member of Chapter 221 Women of the Moose; Calanthe Temple 3, Pythian Sisters; the Ladies Auxiliary of Farrady Post 24, American Legion; the Eckhart Square Circle Club Women’s Auxiliary, and the Midlothian Homemakers. Surviving are one son, Otis Britt, LaVale, another daughter, Mrs. Ruth D. Propst, Cumberland, one sister, Mrs. Laura Wilhelm, Lonaconing, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Durst Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
