Death Notes: 5 Feb 1986, Quesnel Cariboo Observer Albert McKenzie, a long-time resident of Ahbau since 1939, passed away in St. Vincent's Hospital at the age of 53 after a brief illness. Born at Grassland, Alberta on June 20, 1932, Albert McKenzie came to B.C. with his family in 1936. After spending some time in the Kelowna -- Rutland area the family headed north to the Cariboo and settled in the Ahbau Creek area in 1939 where Albert lived until his death. He is survived by six sons; Mike, Keith and Blair presently of Ahbau; Mark in Hixon; Darrell and Ronnie in Quesnel and daugher Lori in Kersley. He also leaves behind three grandchildren; Terrance, Daniel and Krystal in Hixon, his father, Jim McKenzie, brothers Art and Don, sisters Clara Jensen and Marcella Lansdell, all of Ahbau, sister Ethel Read of Saint Albert, Alberta and sister Florence Mikkelson of Fort St. John. He was predeceased by his mother Olga McKenzie in 1976, brother James in 1979 and brother Allen in 1939. Interment was in the Quesnel Municipal Cemetery. Burial Notes: Municipal Cemetery Albert married Rosalie EPTON. They had seven children: Mike, Keith, Blair, Mark, Darrell, Ronnie, and Lori.
