- William P. Goldsworthy Cumberland – William “Bill” Paul Goldsworthy, 66 of Cumberland, died Monday, Oct 28, 2002, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born Aug. 7, 1936, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late William Lewis and Mary V. (McKenzie) Goldsworthy. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Marie Goldsworthy in 1968; and a son, Michael Lewis Goldsworthy in 1970. Mr. Goldsworthy had served in the U.S. Army. He had worked at Cumberland Steel for 24 years, where he had been very active in the union. Then, Mr. Goldsworthy was a driver for the Garrett Co. Community Action for 15 years. He was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Bill was a warm and loving person. His wife and his day care children, were his life. Survivors include his wife, Eva Jean (Lease) Goldsworthy; one niece; several nephews; and their day care family of many loving children and friends. Friends will be received at the Upchurch unreal Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:45 p.m. Friends will assemble at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Lease cemetery, will military honors will be accorded by the local combined veterans honor guard. Serving as pallbearers will be James Lease, Samuel Lease, Jim Simmons, Andy Lease, Brian Lease, Scott Lease and George McKenzie.
