He died on 21 Jan 1976 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. FROSTBURG - William E. Raley, 71, of RD 2, died Wednesday at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, shortly after being admitted. He had been in ill health five years. Born in Zihlman, he was the son of the late Clarence and Laura (McKenzie) Raley. He was a former employe of Amcelle Plant of Celanese Fibers Company and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pocahontas, Pa. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Genevieve (Layman) Raley; three daughters, Mrs. Merle Warfle, Twinsburg, Ohio and Mrs. William Ultis and Mrs. William Fresh, both of here; three sons, Paul Raley, Dornad, Mich., Edward Raley, Hagerstown, and William Rice, here; seven sisters, Mrs. Arvel Minick, Mrs. Anthony McKenzie, Mrs. Charles Arnold, and Mrs. William McKenzie, all of here, Mrs. Ruth Fate, Salisbury, Pa., Mrs. Kenneth Lint, Wellersburg, Pa., Mrs. June Butler, Pittsburgh; five brothers, Thomas, Raymond, John, Albert and Gordon Raley, all of here, 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Avilton. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymond Raley, Stanley Raley, James Raley, James Minnick, David McKenzie and Fred Arnold. The Cumberland News, January 23, 1976
