- FINZEL - Gordon J. Raley, 62, of Finzel died Saturday, Jan. 13, 1990, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland. Born in Finzel April 18, 1927, he was the son of the late Clarence and Barbara (McKenzie) Raley. Mr. Raley retired from the CSX Corporation after 40 years of service. He was an army veteran of World War II, and was a member of Old Rail Post 6025, VFW, Mount Savage; and the Brotherhood of Maintenance and Way Employees. He attended St. Michael Catholic Church. Surviving are his widow, Regina (Lippold) Raley; one son, James M. Raley, Finzel; four sisters, Ruth Fate, Silver Spring; Dorothy Arnold, Finzel; Verna McKenzie and Evelyn McKenzie, Frostburg; and one granddaughter. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home in Frostburg Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held there Tuesday at 8 p.m. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church by Msgr. John L. Reinsfelder. Interment will be in Finzel Cemetery. Members of local veterans organizations will accord military rites at the graveside. Cumberland Times-News, Monday, January 15, 1990
