- Larry D. McKenzie, 72, of Frostburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Jan. 18, 1947, he was the son of the late Murrell and Edna McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie owned and operated the Cash Valley Auto and Self-Storage. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved old cars. He was a member of the Eagles and Elks in Edgewater, Florida.
Larry was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surviving are sons, Brian McKenzie and wife, Diana, and Jeff McKenzie; grandchildren, Jeffery, Ryan and Meagan McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Jackson McKenzie, Irelyn McKenzie and Landon Adams; two brothers; three sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Brian and Jeff were pleased with their father's decision to return to his homestead after many years away from the area. Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Seth Wharton. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian McKenzie, Jeff McKenzie, Jeffrey McKenzie, Ryan McKenzie, Kevin Britton and Uriah Adams. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank Murrell and Pauline McKenzie and family and Mike and Colleen Matthews for all the love and support during his care at home.
