- Cumberland Press, Cumberland, Allegany Co, Md., Monday, January 10, 1916 - Sherman F. Garlitz, 24 years old, son of George W. Garlitz, 17 Arch street, died Saturday night at the Allegany Hospital from typhoid fever. He was a brakeman on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad between Cumberland and Grafton. His body was removed to the home of his parents. Several brothers and sisters also survive. Mr. Garlitz was a member of Cumberland Council No. 586 Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s Catholic Church, from which the funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
