- Nola Bernice McKenzie, 86, of 2097 Green Lantern Road, Lonaconing, Maryland, died Friday, November 14, 2003, at the home of her granddaughter in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Born January 3, 1917 at Avilton, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William Frederick and Mary Elizabeth (Crowe) Dishong. Mrs. McKenzie was preceded in death by her husband, Francis McKenzie on September 29, 1974, and her daughter, Virginia Rose Weiss. Mrs. McKenzie retired after 30 years as a service worker for the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland, and was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by two granddaughters, Robin Costello and Lesia Nelson and two great-granddaughters, Jackie Scurry and Jessica Nelson. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller Street, Grantsville, Maryland, on Monday, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be conducted by Camilla Rawe on Tuesday, November 18, 2003, at 11:00 AM.
