He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lodge 245. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. A. Louise (Zembower) Hoenicka; one son, Kevin F. Hoenicka, Baltimore Pike; one daughter, Mrs. Karen Eirich, LaVale; four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Dorsey, Cumberland; Mrs. Pauline Moyer, Mrs. Bernadette Leidinger, and Mrs. Rita Keplinger, all of Cumberland; one brother, Charles E. Hoenicka, Cumberland; and two grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services and prayers will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. James O. McGovern, pastor of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Interment will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery. (Note: born 9 October 1930; died 7 November 1987) No source listed.
