- FROSTBURG — John M. Kerr, 81, of Shaft, died this morning in the Cumberland Nursing Home where he had been a patient since last June. A native of Gilmore, Mr. Kerr was the last surviving member of his immediate family. His wife, Mrs. Laura (McKenzie) Kerr, preceded him in death. Mr. Kerr was a retired employee of the Amcelle Plant of Celanese Fibers of America, and was a member of the JOUAM Lodge of Frostburg. He was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Cresaptown. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home where the family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. The Cumberland Evening Times, January 26, 1970
FROSTBURG -- Services for John M. Kerr, 81, Shaft, who died yesterday in the Cumberland Nursing Home, will be conducted tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the Durst Funeral Home. Rev. Jack Pease will officiate and interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Francis Philpot, James Scott, Robert Shafer, Harvey McKenzie, Willard Harvey and Robert Wharton.
