 | Apprenticeship Indenture of Daniel McKenzie (b. 1775-1780) MDHA 14694-A E.C.P. Frederick Co. MD. Indentures Cover Spine This is the book that contains the apprenticeship document that follows. Daniel McKenzie of Eli agrees to be an apprentice cabinet maker for three years. The document is dated May, 1798. The date fits nicely with Daniel's later marriage to Catharine Hartmann and the birth of his first child, Elias, in 1803, assuming we are correct that Elias was Daniel's son. The vast majority of the research that connects Elias to Daniel (b. 1775-1780) was performed by Dick MacKenzie with assistance from Don Kagle.

 | Benjamin F. Gilbert Administrators Bond This document is located in the Putnam County Courthouse in Eatonton, Georgia. Bond Book C, Page 172. The author does not know if this administrator's bond was issued in connection with the estate of Benjamin F. Gilbert (d. 25 Oct 1830) or his son. Note that the date on the document is 1845. The one thing that was happening right at that time is that Nancy McKenzie Gilbert, the widow of Benjamin F. Gilbert (d. 1830) was filing an application for a RW Widow's pension. The Zachariah Roughton whose name appears at the top of this document also served as a witness to Nancy McKenzie's declaration in her pension application.
